About Me

I was hired by LKDSB in 2007. I was a supply teacher for several years, during which I had the opportunity to teach at all grade levels in a variety of schools across the county. Before arriving at Bridgeview, I taught at Hanna Memorial. My duties ranged from Junior classroom teacher to Librarian and kindergarten prep coverage.

Since becoming a full-time teacher, I have added to my teaching qualifications by taking additional courses in the subject areas of Librarianship and Visual Arts. I have also continued to attend after school workshops focused on improving student success by integrating new strategies for teaching Math and Literacy.

I was born in London, Ontario where I attended elementary school. I moved to the Sarnia area just before high school where I attended St. Patrick's. I enjoyed several years in Toronto attending the Ontario College of Art & Design where I studied Material Arts. I earned my Bachelors degree in Fine Arts before returning to Sarnia. Upon my return I taught ceramic arts at the St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, Michigan. I also worked for several years as a software developer. I wrote a series of applications tracking project development and inventory for local engineering and chemical production firms.
Looking for a new challenge, I returned to school in 2006 at the University of Windsor where I earned my Bachelor's of Education.

While at Bridgeview I have coached the cross-country and Senior Girls' volleyball teams, organized Terry Fox day at Canatara Park, the Christmas Choir and organized the robotics resources. I have also enjoyed using my computer science and visual arts background to create engaging projects for my students to explore.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy gardening, theatre, playing guitar and woodworking.

  1. A most diverse background. This must be such an asset in a classroom with so many different types of learners.
